The County of Los Angeles issued an order called “Safer at Home” to further control the spread of COVID-19.
The order includes a temporary prohibition of all events and gatherings of 10 people or more as well as the closure of non-essential businesses and areas.
The order goes into effect immediately. The City of Compton is supportive of all orders being released by our public health officials and has affirmed its commitment to following this order throughout our community.
The prohibition on events of over 10 people will stay in effect until April 19, 2020.
For events of 2-9 people, the order requires that folks practice social distancing by staying 6 ft. apart, provide access to hand washing facilities with soap and water and post a sign at the entry of the venue asking people to not enter if they have experienced any respiratory symptoms, fever, or cough.
This health order requires the closure of:
Indoor malls
Shopping centers
Playgrounds
All other non-essential businesses
The City of Compton continues to closely monitor the situation and will provide updates as they become available.
