Compton, CA—Compton Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsements and campaign contributions to five candidates for Compton City Council April 20 primary ballot.

The Compton Chamber of Commerce (ComptonBizPac) endorses candidates who display leadership to move Compton and its citizens forward; advocate for policies that create good paying jobs for our city/region; and strive to improve the quality of life for our citizens.

ComptonBizPac (Political Action Committee) was formed in 2009 as a division of the Compton Chamber of Commerce. It allows individuals to collectively participate in the political process by identifying and supporting candidates concerned with reforming issues which impact the quality of life and economic vitality of the City of Compton.

All candidates were invited to participate in the interview process; and ComptonBizPac formally interviewed a total of 19 candidates. Each interview was 30-45 minutes in length, and included consistent questions posed to all candidates.

The Chamber considered each candidate's effectiveness and their receptiveness to the Chamber and its members' views. Candidates were selected based on their stance on issues, and their record of diplomacy and leadership as exemplified through the interview process.

By endorsing a "candidate," the Compton Chamber believes he or she will be a strong and effective partner on policies to advance the City of Compton.

About Compton Chamber of Commerce: Founded in 1921 and officially incorporated in 1923, the Compton Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit 501c-6 organization devoted to the promotion and development of business in the greater Compton community.
